Ghosts
Ghosts are something that not everyone can see, the reason why is often depending on how much we think the supernatural can occur. Here's a metaphor for you guys so you can understand. You and two friends are out in the wodds, standing in the same clearing, with portable radios, trying to get the same station. One person can get it perfect, one person can get it with a little static, and the other can't get anything at all. Ghosts are the radio stations, and we are the radios. Some people are more sensitive or believe in the supernatural more, and can see a full aparation, or a ghost in as it was in life human, animal, or demon. Others can see distorted ghosts, orbs, lights, human like shapes, and mists. And some just can't see anything at all.
Types of Ghosts
- Poltergist - The word is German for: Knocking Ghost. This ghost picks things up, throws them, knocks on walls and doors, makes noises, breaks things, sometimes is seen but most of the time is not, and they are often known for attacking people or a certain person. However some believe that this isn't a ghost at all. They say it is because of a stressed out family member, most of the time a teenager to early twenties, most of the time female. Some say their subconscious is releasing it's stress caused frustration out on physical objects or people, the more stressed the more the happenings and the worse and more instense the occurences. The less the stress
the less the happenings and the intensity.
- Phantom - Webster's Dictionary describes it as "The visible representative of an abstract state or incorporeal person." This is the type that you see, hear, and feel, most of the time they were human when living. These are not known for moving objects.
- Graveyard Guardian - By legend, the first person buried in a graveyard is the graveyard's guardian. The spirit supposadly does the job of the caretaker, appearing only when the graveyard is in danger. Most often they are seen wearing cloaks, according to legend
- Mist - The most commonly seen apparation. Most of the time they are brushed off as fog, and cold breaths of air. They are seen most commonly on battlefields or at a place where several murders were ,or lots of emotion was given out, to have taken place.
- Dying Relative Apparation - According to legend, people have been visited by either an apparation of a dying relative, or in a dream.
Tips for ghost hunting
- Avoid using a flash across from reflective objects.
- Be aware of your surroundings. If it is raining or dusty where your picture is taken, it will appear to have "orbs" all over the photo. Bright light can also cause "orbs".
- Is that your camera strap in front of the lens or a vortex?
- Is something other than your camera strap very close to your flash? Anything hanging (low tree limbs, ropes, spider webs, etc) can reflect back as a "bright white energy" when shot at "point-blank" range.
- When scanning your pic in, try to use at least 150 dpi resolution. Less than that can make it difficult to discern what is in the shot. Keep an original scan on hand. When a computer is used to "sharpen" an image, digital artifacts can be inadvertantly added that were not in the original picture.
- When looking at "energy" in a photo, look at the negative. Does the "energy" continue out of the frame? If so, you have a development error.
- Most importantly, be alert and objective. Most "paranormal" photographs can be explained as natural occurances. Try to eliminate as many of these factors as possible."
